Barbie, the queen of all things glamorous, continues to celebrate her 50th birthday in style! In Sydney, Australia, Mattel unveiled a larger-than-life-size Barbie cake in her honor. Measuring 7 feet tall and weighing in at 2,645 pounds, this cake was edible luxury, as only a Barbie cake should be. The sweet creation was covered in gold icing, gold silk and $50,000 worth of Swarovski crystals! Based on the design for the 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Barbie, this cake was created by a team of experts, hairdresser Joh Bailey, Australian fashion designer Alex Perry, jewelry designer Stefano Canturi, and Sweet Art Bakers in Australia.
